The Industry Training Program delivers courses that respond to a range of needs for groundwater knowledge. Course venues around Australia and in New Zealand ensure that opportunities for participation are maximised.
This Program, formerly managed by the Centre for Groundwater Studies (CGS), is now an activity stream of the National Centre for Groundwater Research and Training (NCGRT). Staff of the former CGS have transferred to the NCGRT.
One of the aims of the NCGRT is to provide high quality non-research and professional training programs. The Industry Training team is committed to ensuring that this aim is met.
The establishment of the NCGRT creates an exciting framework for the development of programs to meet the growing need for knowledge about groundwater. With 20 partners, 5 geographically dispersed research programs, 35 Chief Investigators, and a brief to recruit and train 150 new research students and staff over 5 years, the NCGRT has been resourced to accelerate research and research capacity in groundwater. The Industry Training Program will be enriched by the new understandings that emerge from this massive research effort.
We look forward to the continued participation of clients of the former CGS, and to extending our client base as the NCGRT builds national momentum and connections.
