The Centre for Groundwater Studies reached a milestone in 2007 with 20 years of operation. Commencing in 1987, the Centre has become a key institution for groundwater research and education both nationally and internationally.

During the past two years the Centre has made great progress in forging links with international institutions particularly in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, China and South Africa. These linkages are providing a base for collaboration in research and education which the centre will build on in the years ahead.

The information in this website provides an insight into the Centre's work, which we hope will interest you sufficiently to visit our partner agencies or contact us through the web visitors book. We look forward to working with you to develop a better international appreciation of the role of groundwater, and its importance as a resource.
